Q:
Do they have peach ice cream?
A:
They do carry peach. However, check their website and check to see if it's on their menu as peach season is about a month away. They may make it seasonally.

Are their ice creams gluten free?
A:
Almost all of them, yes! I have celiac and the employees were all super knowledgeable about the ingredients and they have a full allergy protocol!

There's a good reason that the line to get in here is always down the block. I've walked by quite a few times without going in because of that. On a recent Tuesday night it was a rare occurrence that there were only about 10 people on line, it was time to see what all the hubbub was all about.
The line moved pretty quickly. Once I arrived at the counter I was greeted by a very friendly staff member. I got a scoop of Thin Mint, really good stuff. The vanilla was vanilla, a safe bet. Milkshakes were thick and stayed strong for the 15 minute ride home. Mini donuts and macaroons were a nice palette cleanser- a little dessert after your dessert.
I'm not a huge ice cream fan so I won't be standing outside for 30 minutes or more but if I see less than a dozen people in line, I'll be hopping on it.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Thama P.IN, IN263160Apr 20, 2024
One of the best, silkiest, and flavorful ice creams I've had in a long time!
There was a long line out the door but honestly I was just fine with it! The line moved at a steady pace.
Also have to find street parking. But a highly recommend on this place! It's a gem and a go to in Savannah!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 3442122Apr 6, 2024
Lines are extremely long but the service is exceptional! They bring out water to you while you wait which helps when it's hot outside!
The space is small inside but they do have a few tables and chairs outside.
You get to see a menu before going in with flavors and seasonal ones too! You will also see instructions on how to order! That is very important to help keep the line moving.
Prices are pretty fair and are similar to other ice cream shops in the area.
We ordered cones and a milkshake. The shake took about 10 minutes to make so we tried to eat our ice cream as we waited for it.
Ice cream tasted great and they have some unique choices if your more adventures.
Once you order you head to a separate space to pay!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 4, 2024
As a New Yorker, I'm used to waiting on line for food and having things that are worth the wait. Leopold's is not worth it.
It doesn't matter if it's morning, afternoon, or evening, rain or shine, there is always line at Leopold's. My partner and I thought the line might be shorter on a rainy day, but it was just as long and we were outside holding an umbrella. It didn't help that the people behind us were complaining for the whole hour we were waiting for our ice cream. At least someone came out from the shop and served waters to everyone on line. By the time we got to the front, we were so tired of waiting that we got two scoops of ice cream each, even though we could not stomach it, so we wouldn't have to wait in line again. The good thing is that they let you sample the flavors before you purchase. I tried samples of the banana, chocolate chewies and cream, honey almond and cream, and butter pecan. I settled for the chocolate chewies and honey almond while my partner chose coconut and caramel swirl.
While the ice cream isn't super sweet, it is extremely decadent and the portions are huge. The flavors are also uninteresting and nothing I haven't seen at home. The ice cream was so heavy I could only finish one scoop and had to throw out the rest. Instead of a snack, the ice cream can calorically be considered a full meal with the amount of fat and sugar in the ice cream.
The best part of the experience is seeing the movie posters and retro slates used in Stratton Leopold's movies after he left the ice cream business to make his mark in Hollywood. The ambiance of the ice cream parlor is reminiscent of simpler days and there's a jukebox with old time classics. Not sure if it works but I think you can play a song if you're willing to spare some quarters.
Overall, I would rather wait in line at Morgenstern's in nyc for reasonable sized scoops and complex flavors than suffer through an hour of whiny tourists for premium flavors I can get at the grocery store.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 19, 20241 check-in
Everything I've read about visiting Savannah said that a must is going to Leopold's, so I had to try it for myself.
When I first entered there was a pretty long line but the workers were working hard and fast because that line diminished within a few minutes. The decor is vintage and the vibe is as if it was a 50's diner. The Tutti Frutti is the flavor they are most known for so I asked for a sample and they were nice enough to give me one. The Tutti Frutti is a unique creamy flavor that was really good but after seeing everyone get a Brownie Sundae I needed one too.
The brownie sundae is the perfect size to share, the whipped cream was super fresh. The actual brownie had more a fudgy flavor and consistency and topped with the hot fudge it was "chef's kiss". The vanilla ice cream was rich and creamy and paired well with the brownie.
Worth a trip to try , the staff was really nice, and the ice cream is worth every penny.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Dec 30, 2023
Yum!
We walked and drove past a few times and there was literally ALWAYS a line out the door so it doesn't seem like there is ever a good time to come and not have to wait.
A few folks did tell us it's absolutely delicious. I wanted to try it bc last time I was here I didn't. So we stood in line for about 40 minutes to give this famous locals must a try.
I chose a two scoop brownie sundae where I did peppermint and Savannah Socialite which was a chocolate ice cream with more chocolate and then a bourbon caramel swirl. SO decadent and good! Topped with hot fudge, whipped cream and cherry. Old skool and sooo good!
Not sure if it was worth 40 minutes wait - but it was delish and fun and nostalgic. Staff were super friendly.
A nice space to eat inside after you pay too.Helpful 7Thanks 2Love this 5Oh no 0 - Jan 9, 2024
We walked in and were hit with an off putting smell like someone threw up all over the place, I wish I could experience what everyone else talked about with the smell of dairy and fresh baked goods.
Now the ice cream was velvety smooth, rich, decadent and had the right amount of sweetness. Before getting my scoop I tried the banana (which had subtle hints of banana IMO), chocolate chip (you can't really go wrong with that because it's a staple in my opinion), the new rum flavored ice cream with toasted almonds (it was good), but when I tried the caramel swirl- the flavor stood out more, so I knew I wanted that one.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Alyson D.South Elgin, IL03211Apr 25, 2024
Had to try the 104 year old business-just to say we've had the "best ice cream in America".
Disappointed that most flavors on the day we went were vanilla based-as I was really looking forward to my favorite-chocolate, chocolate chip-but had to settle for "2 cookie"-which was good-lots of chunks of cookie dough and Oreo crumbles. My husband had standard vanilla-which he said was good-staff was relatively friendly-but very busy people can sometimes be "barely nice." The decor is fun to look at-as one of the brothers was in the movie business. Lots of old movie posters.
Overall, glad we went-however, I have had better ice cream. It was good-that's all.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jan 6, 2024
Get the brownie sundae - you won't regret.
My friends and I were surprised to see there was such a short line on a Saturday evening, so we decided to come and treat ourselves.
The brownie is so delicious and warm, and chocolate gooeyness! Get it!!!!
(And you can choose your ice cream flavor but I went traditional with vanilla).Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
