Rudy's "Country Store" and Bar-B-Q

Rudy's never misses. the employees are exceptional, making sure you have everything you need, answering questions, offering samples, and checking you out in a timely manner. all with a bright servant-hearted attitude. ordering food doesn't take much time even when the line is long, and there is usually plenty of seating. the topping bar is well stocked too. but I'm sure if it wasn't, an employee would happily fill it back up!

I typically get the loaded jumbo baked potato with moist brisket. absolutely heavenly.

Always busy and always good. The staff is friendly and the food is always good to very good. Sometimes the brisket is excellent. It's loud and plan on standing in line but it moves quickly. A few gripes.....like so many bbq places it's flimsy plastic cutlery. Food is served on paper. Even paper plates would be better. Plastic cutlery is in big cups that every kid in the place can finger. They also have big tubs of iced bottles of drinks that children handle and it kind of grosses me out. Every time I'm there I've started noticing how many little kids handle the bottles on ice. Long picnic style tables...sometimes hard to find a clean spot.

I'll keep going. The food and service is great but the dining experience is a little lacking.

Really consistent BBQ for Colorado Springs.. this time we got the Smoked Prime Rib in addition to everyones individual orders, very tasty. Checking all the boxes for local BBQ this is probably the best in town, Quality meats smoked to perfection we were all very satisfied with our meals. Far better than Food than Dickys or Bid Dog and smokes Bourbon Brothers Joke House, Chuckwagon still the best BBQ in Colorado Springs IMHO.

NONE OF THE MEATS WERE PRE BOXED like someone mentioned in another review, lies!! Sides were premade and a little bland, all meats were pulled right out of smoker and cut in front of you

Tip: Long lines everytime we have been here, 4 cashiers, only one chef cutting meat. Expect a half hour wait standing in Line. Pre order for efficiency.

I'm beginning to wonder if my approach to evaluating BBQ joints is all backwards. I'm starting to question if you can actually begin the evaluation process from the parking lot. How you ask? Check the license plates.

Even though Rudy's is located a few miles off the nearest major highway, during every single visit I have invariably noticed various out-of-state license plates in the parking lot. Sure, the majority of plates are registered in Colorado, but how else do you explain the numerous representatives from multiple other parts of the country? It's gotta be the chow, don't you think?

If you check our pic of the menu you'll see that all the major (BBQ) food groups are included, without the number of choices becoming overwhelming.

That's key because their simple menu enables them to receive your order, quickly fill it while you're still standing at the counter, and launch your involuntary salivation response while you scurry to the nearest table. (The brisket literally melts in your mouth, so either avoid dilly dallying or stuff a few paper towels in the corners of your mouth before you leave the counter. )

Although both sauces were terrific, I preferred the "Sissy Sauce" (hey, no rude comments from the back of the room! ) and the Country music in the background was the perfect compliment (sounded like 90's to me).

5/5 completely loved the service, super clean inside, amazing food that is consistent, cheap and just overall great quality. Everything pictured for the food ordered (Brisket sandwich, pork sandwich, Rice Krispie, green chili, banana pudding and the coleslaw)! Haven't eaten at a BBQ place that serves such great quality for the price!

As a side note they also do military discount here which is great!

Made me miss living in TX..

Moist brisket was nice and smokey, and ribs satisfied appropriately. The bbq sauce did compliment the meats with a good tangy flavor.

My husband and I always enjoy making breakfast with leftover brisket with hashbrowns and over easy eggs.
Will order again when back in The Springs!

Ummmmmm what can I say about this place where we had dinner twice while in the area for 4 days Don't think I'm easily swayed by bbq... We just had bbq in Dallas and Memphis last week and Ruby's holds up to the competition.

Service was quick and friendly.

Love the help yourself to beverages and Accoutrements. Also enjoy the plenty spacious dining hall atmosphere.

Smoked Potato- smoked to perfection, the skin is the best part. You may want to think about sharing this.
Moist Brisket- omg fall off the fork moist
Baby back Ribs- flavorful and moist
Pork Ribs- so good! Falls off the bone
Jalapeño Sausage- juicy and perfectly flavored
Coleslaw- I was doubtful when ordering but it was the perfect bite to break up the richness from everything else.
Banana pudding- so good, annoyed I shared!

The food was delicious! We ordered a smoked potato with cheese, butter and sour cream for $6. With added meat, the potato was only $10! It was delicious, but I wish it had a little more cheese.

We placed an order at 6 PM for a pick up at 8 PM which was the earliest time it allowed us to. We got there 10 minutes early hoping it was already ready. It was not we then had to wait until 8:20 PM for our food to be done. They were also out of corn on the cob which is sad because I was so looking forward to it! They did let us swap for another side, but there were no other veggies... we went with potato salad which was good, but we didn't want a potato on potato.

The meat here is ALWAYS COOKED TO wood smoked MOIST PERFECTION. The staff moved the ever present line pretty fast . They cut and weigh your choice of Turkey, pork , beef brisket or sausage, right in front of you .... Everyone gets a square-deal ! It's got country charm , and every kind of cold beverage (including bottled BEER) . We like to sit on the patio for the wonderful views.... of mountains and Dogs ... yes they are "pet friendly "
The whole vibe here is just generally friendly & casual. We've been here so many times & We will keep coming back!

Heard of this place from friends- definitely did not let me down.

It's a very casual bbq place, very chill. Order at the front and they pack/weigh all your stuff for you. Plenty of seating inside and outside too.

Food - I got the brisket sandwich, ribs, coleslaw , cream of corn and banana pudding. The brisket was moist, ribs were really good with their original sauce. Cream of corn was different but good! Banana pudding was very good and not too sweet!

All the utensils and extra items are on the right side of the ordering window for easy grab on the way out.

Service - very friendly employees and helpful too!

Parking - big lot, next to a gas station. Right off the Main Street.
