MY personal experience with Advantage Rental Car-

We arrived at about 8pm est on a Saturday and we got lucky that the shuttle was at the curb when we got outside so the ride over was minimal and there was no wait time. The kid who drove the shuttle was fine not super friendly but he wasn't rude either he just took our bags put em on the shuttle and drove to the rental place.

I will say when we got there there was five people in front of us and one guy working - It appears that everyone was on lunch because half way through the wait other employees started to trickle in with drinks and to go boxes. The guy who helped us was pretty awesome. Super friendly, professional and answered all my questions.

The car, the CAR, was the best part. brand new, 2024, clean inside and out full tank of gas pristine condition drove like a dream . We had alot of fun driving it. The toll pass, YES, they do offer it to you the man I dealt with DID NOT force it on me, he simply told me if we didn't choose the extra, and we took a toll the price we would be charged, that's it.

Returning it was SUPER fast, the lady took the keys, said she would email a finalized invoice (which she did) and we were off. You don't even have to go inside to do a return which is super nice.

No, its not on airport grounds, yes they DO offer extras (ie toll pass etc) YES there will be a wait to check in but the people were nice, the facility is clean and comfortable and the cars are pretty great. PLUS, their prices are WAY better than most of the places I checked and I checked on and OFF airport property.

SHAMEFUL! It's like renting a car from Matilda's father (the notoriously corrupt/shitty used car salesman)

-My first warning should have been the tons of random signs warning of ad hoc fees to include... SAND. (Sand is a $250 cleaning fee lol. Yeah. Seriously)

-Turns out that a fee called "REQUIRED liability coverage" is, in fact, OPTIONAL. Seriously?

-Good luck to military Floridians with a Florida Driver's license. Why would this company punish military men and women by not allowing them to drive home (to another part of Florida) with their reservation? I didn't even ask, but I'm sure this "necessary restriction" could have been "ignored" for a hefty fee $$$$

They are free to set their own policies, but they should be upfront, accurately named, and not target FLORIDIAN servicemembers simply trying to get home.

      SHAMEFUL! SHAMEFUL!!!

      Not happy.

First of all, this place is not at the airport, it's about 2 miles away. Here's why that mattered.

I got into Orlando around 2am. Had a hotel close to the airport for a good night's sleep before going to Disney. The next morning I caught the hotel shuttle to the airport to pick up my rental. I waited 45 mins outside for the Wallybus and when it got there, it literally took my directly across the street from my hotel where the Wallycars are. I could have walked there in less than 10 mins rather than waiting for the bus.

When I mentioned this to the gentleman who processed my rental, he said "because we are an airport hotel you have to be picked up at the airport ". Complete waste of 90 mins on a 3 day vacation where my daughter was stuck in a room waiting for me.

I just checked my bill and I'm charged 50 dollars for gas. When I picked up the car it was on 3/4ths of a tank. When I dropped it off, it was on 3/4ths of a tank. The.receipt says I picked it up on full..I did not. I left it as a received it. 50 bucks extra for them for nothing. Called customer service and they said I should have taken a picture of the gas level when I received and when airport dropped it off...because you know, that's what we all do when we think we are working with a decent vendor.

Whatever price you get, add 50%. Got his with a tire battery fee, vehicle license fee, something called a priv fee recovery and roadside assistance fee when I have AAA.

Beware of misrepresentation and clarity between their agreements and sales agents. 1st like to say, car was great and the price was good too but after that here is our experience with this company.

We get to the location and see at 11:30pm at night they have a full line with a wait, after sitting in line you can see they are taught to upsell or sell more 'products' at the counter to their customers and they really do push it, HARD!! so we can see why there is such a long wait to get your reservation, so get there early.
So we get to counter and getting our rental, we asked for a FULL size SUV, they the full size SUV I selected is the smaller version?? their website doesn't have 2 different sizes for a full size SUV just 1. So they say their running a discount of 20$ a day for the upgrade size, which we have a large size family plus luggage so we opt for that.
Then we move on to toll pass, yes, we understand there is tolls and we can pay cash or not go through tolls. Then they say well there is a lot of tolls in Orlando and if you go through more than 2 this will be very costly and we tell them we have a route planned out and we should only hit 2, coming and going from airport, so he stops asking about selling the toll pass. Also other note the Orlando visitor toll pass doesn't work with advantage only certain rental companies.
Next comes additional insurance, now this is what I was a little confused on but my insurance covers all rentals and damages so I knew already I didn't need any but they suggested it still and also looked at my insurance and were trying to sell me additional saying it doesn't so review your own policy before.
lastly, we talk about prepaid fuel, sales agent say I can get prepaid fuel at a lesser discount the gas station prices, $3 a gallon at this moment, and says we will pay for a half tank now at the counter and then when we return it we will pay the rest of it at the $3 a gallon. well sure enough I take what he says as ok pay for half tank now and if tank comes back under that I will pay 3$ a gallon to half tank. Well not so much, they charge 9$ a gallon if it comes in under the prepaid half tank you paid for. So, I can customer service for explanation on why we have an additional charge of $90 for fuel when we paid $40 already, they tell me that you need to return at half tank to not get charged their 'up charged' rate for fueling the tank. Side note I got the truck at not a fuel tank but more of like a 7/8 or a little over 3/4 of a tank and I paid for $130 of gas on a 28 gallon SUV, that means I paid, at their 3$ rate, for a fuel tank of gas plus an additional half tank of gas, dumbfounded. So back to customer service, they tell me it is not the job or fault of the employee to tell you the correct information but the job on the renter to read the multiple page documents that explain the fuel charges. I say your sales agent that should be trained on your agreements advised me on this specific topic so either they are not getting trained or they are straight lying about your policy. the customer service then said it was on me and I had a full week to read the agreement and nothing they can do about it. Now again, I agree I need to pay for the half tank I hadn't paid for yet but was not told the 9$ a gallon charge for not binging tank back half full, there was a gas station next door 20 feet away!! I would of filled up at too if I would of know this. I said look I'm asking for a tiny refund due to their agent misleading or not knowing your agreement not even a full refund or anything which is absolutely ridiculous.. So moral of story their agents can say anything and it is still on you to READ the contract fully before signing and not taking what they say as knowing their own agreements, it may be worth paying an extra 200$ for a more reputable company. FYI

Waited 4 hours in line after a long international flight for a car only for them to tell us they had given it away. Then they ended up still charging us after we left to go to Alamo. Had to dispute using the credit card company, which luckily sided with us. This business only exists to cheat people.

The company is absolute scum!! Stay away!! First they didn't have the 8 seater vehicle we rented and tried to stuff off a 7 seater to us and told it's ok passengers in the back don't need seat belts. We waited over 1.5hrs to get a vehicle. They add a false insurance charge of $100 to my invoice even though I declined insurance as well as adding some private charge of $50 that they will not explain. Go anywhere else!!

Absolutely the worse company ever. Don't believe me try getting a hold of them. Literally waited for 2 hours to get car at airport. The line was 30 deep and they had 2 workers. The associate told us its always like this. After getting the car 2 days later we got a flat tire. Well with no jack in the car we were stranded on the side of the road without anyone to call. We finally got ahold of the company in which they tried to get a hold of them. They had no luck and they told us there was nothing they could do. SERIOUSLY?? Bad experience when you have a car full of kids and a broke down car. DONT RENT FROM THEM

The company should be called Disadvantage Car Rentals. Upon picking up my car, I was told that it had been properly serviced and refueled. When I got in the car and turned it on to verify the mileage, I immediately noticed that the gas tank was not full (not even close). I took a picture, turned off the car and went back inside to let the agent know the tank wasn't full. She told me that she would note it on the file and to return it with the same amount of gas that it had. Cool.
I got back into the car and started driving. After 15 minutes the lights on the dashboard lit up stating that the tire pressure was low on all 4 tires. I could not find a single gas station in the area with a functioning air dispenser. Fortunately, I was staying at a Disney property and they told me to take the car to their auto shop and they filled the tires as a courtesy...kudos to Disney!
A few days later, I refilled the tank to the level that I received it (it only took $10, I didn't drive much) and returned the car. The next day, I received an extra bill for gas! I called and told them the situation and asked that they remove the charge. I was told that the charge was non-refundable. This is unacceptable. I will NEVER rent from them again!

This place is NOT AT THE AIRPORT. You have to wait to take a shuttle to a sketchy parking lot and the process takes a good 30-45 minutes. There was a long line and lots of arguing with the agents. When it was my turn, they would not honor the rate that I had through Expedia, canceled my reservation and then treated me as a walk-in. My rate went from $250 to $875 so I ended up walking out with my kids and taking an uber to our resort. Fortunately, I was able to get a car through Avis at the Royal Pacific Resort at Universal. I talked to the Avis agent there about my experience with Advantage and she said that the airport rental agencies get commission on walk-in rentals. Please listen to all of the bad reviews for this place and run away.
